Fire Alarms

Why should I install a fire alarm?

If you’re wondering what you should do to protect your home or business from fire, give us a call on 020 3930 0015 and we can provide free advice. We install and maintain domestic and commercial fire protection systems to protect you and your belongings.

What does a domestic fire protection system look like?

In the home, a simple mains powered smoke alarm system with battery backup and wired interconnection is the standard. The most common types of detector in the home are optical and heat. Optical smoke detectors are good at detecting slower burning fires and smoke from electrical fires, for example. Heat detectors are used in kitchens to avoid false alarms from minor things like burned toast. They detect a swift rise in temperature which could indicate fire.

How often should I test my smoke alarms?

We’re based in London, where the local fire department recommend testing your smoke alarms every month. A good tip is to write a calendar reminder on the first day of every month.

What sort of fire alarm to I need for my business?

The best way for us to find the right system for you is for us to visit your business premises. We offer fully addressable systems in commercial premises and simpler installations in small businesses. We also install fire alarms in HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupation). For more information, give us a call or drop us a line.
